Roc de Tovière and Les plates de la Daille
Val d'Isère has two Via Ferratas facing each other between the main road at the entrance of the resort.
Le Roc de Tovière is open since 1998 for people at all levels. Its first part is indeed for beginners and leads to a loophole for those who don't want to go further. The most experienced can continue the ascent by crossing two bridges, then a gateway, and climbing an inclined ascent. After crossing an impressive gateway of 41m, the most athletics can start the third part, the last and the most difficult one, which leads to Roc de Tovière top.
Les Plates de la Daille is in front of Le Roc de Tovière and is easier. You'll mostly use natural grips, especially in the first part but without great difficulty. A huge wall appears after that followed by a staggering rise with few scales and slabs. Breath-taking view on Val d'Isère awaits you from the top.
The two Via Ferratas of Val d'Isère are open the entire Summer season. Beginners can be accompanied by a guide and it's easy to rent the equipments (shoes, helmet, harness, rope...) in lots of stores in town.
